Cala Ratjada - the lowdown
The resort of Cala Ratjada is situated around 3 kilometres from Capdepera and forms the most easterly part of the island. It is the nearest point between Mallorca and its neighbouring island of Menorca. On a clear day, you can see the former Menorcan capital Ciutadella from here.
Cala Ratjada has a scenic rocky coastline and several great beaches within walking distance. The best known of these is Son Moll, which offers fine white sand and turquoise waters. This beach gets busy in the summer. Parking is hard to find but a bus stop is very close by.
If Son Moll is too busy, there are other options. Slightly further to the north, you will find the small and charming beach of Cala Gat, which is accessed via a beautiful promenade. Alternatively, there is the blue flag beach in the adjacent resort of Cala Agulla, which is amongst Mallorca's top 20 beaches.
Cala Ratjada features the largest port in the north of Mallorca. Apart from an abundance of traditional fishing boats, you will also find impressive yachts and sailing boats. You might enjoy one of the great boat trips that are on offer here!
On a Saturday morning, you may want to check out the local traditional street market that is held at Placa del Pins. Here, you can get a selection of locally produced fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as flowers, arts and crafts, or clothing. If you have missed the local market, there is also one in nearby Capdepera that takes place on a Wednesday morning.
For a bit of "everyday holiday browsing", have a look around the Carrer L'Agulla Elinor Servera, Cala Ratjada's main shopping mile.
If you fancy a little hike, why not take a trip to the Far de Capdepera, a 19th-century beautiful working lighthouse, around 30 minutes' walk from the centre of Cala Ratjada. The views from there are breathtaking at any time of the day, but even more so around sunrise and sunset.
Best experience with Solhop in Madrid! Easy to book via e-mail also in the short term, nice clean van, reasonable prices.

SolHoP provides great service. When we arrived, the driver waited for us even if we were late. And when we drove back to airport, the driver arrived on time. The customer service responses through email were also very quick and they answered all my questions promptly and thoroughly. We will use this service again when we return.

Great service and reservation follow up to go from city center to Malaga airport Driver in perfect time and very kind!
We were 5 people (inc. 3 kids) traveling from the center of Madrid to the Madrid airport. Given we had an early morning flight back to the U.S., we booked this taxi transfer. Booking was easy. The driver was very professional, on time, and the vehicle was very comfortable. I am glad we chose this service for an easy transfer at the beginning of a long journey home.
The driver was really professional and I was delayed due to luggage issues so I called him and he waited patiently for me. The car provided was an upgrade and a nice surprise and the ride back was smooth. Nice welcome and fluent in english
We were 5 people travelling from our hotel in Granda to a hotel in Malaga. The booking process and journey were both very comfortable. The vehicle was on time and the driver was very professional and courteous. The 7 seater van was also of luxury class ( Mercedes).
